Established in 2017, Xige Winery is one of the most exciting emerging wine projects in China. Xige Winery is a state-of-the-art, modern winery with over 1,300 hectares of vineyards, including more than 1,000 hectares planted with vines that have a maturity period of 20 years. This has solidified their rapid success as one of the leading premium wine brands in China. Xige Winery was founded by Zhang Yanzhi, who previously worked as a winemaker for Changyu Pioneer Wine Company. Joining him is Christelle Chene, who was born in Burgundy and has served as the Export Sales Director in China, dedicated to promoting Ningxia wines and Chinese wines worldwide.
Xige Winery's wines have gained international attention, with Chinese President Xi Jinping selecting Xige's Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot blend during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on his visit to China in April. Prior to that, Xige Winery had already made its mark in the international wine scene when it exported a batch of wines worth £124,000 to the United Kingdom, breaking the record for the highest export value of a single batch of wine from Ningxia. In 2019, Xige Winery became the first winery in China to receive the internationally recognized BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard certification. Currently, Xige Winery's products are sold in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, as well as the Hong Kong and Macau regions of China.
